At Pastorfrigor GB, our commitment goes far beyond providing world-class refrigeration solutions. We believe in doing business the right way – with purpose, responsibility, and compassion.

That means giving back to communities across the world, supporting causes that matter, and working sustainably to protect the future of our planet.

What MAG does

In some parts of the world, danger lies just beneath the surface. Every hour, someone is injured or killed by a landmine or unexploded bomb, with children often the most vulnerable.

But there is hope.

Mines Advisory Group (MAG) has spent over 30 years clearing more than 4.7 million landmines and unexploded ordnance from land contaminated by war. Operating in some of the world’s most affected regions, their teams work tirelessly to safely restore land to communities who need it most.

Once land is made safe, recovery can truly begin. Schools are rebuilt, new ones constructed, homes restored, and essential farmland returned to productive use. Cleared roads reopen vital trade routes, allowing NGOs and other organisations to reach remote areas with humanitarian aid and development support. These efforts lay the foundation for long-term, sustainable recovery and growth. Communities can live safely, farm on clear land, build new houses and schools, and children can walk without fear.

Because of MAG’s work, more than 17.7 million people in over 40 countries can now live, work, and walk without fear, reclaiming their futures, one step at a time.

Why MAG matters to us

Our connection to MAG is both professional and deeply personal. Each year, our CEO Simon Robinson undertakes a long-distance charity bike ride in support of Bikes Against Bombs, a campaign that directly benefits MAG’s life-saving work. These rides aren’t just fundraising efforts; they are a reflection of our company’s values in action. By raising awareness and vital funds, we’re proud to help MAG clear dangerous remnants of war and restore safety to communities around the world.

It’s this shared vision of creating a safer, more sustainable future that makes MAG such a meaningful cause for Pastorfrigor GB.

Bikes Against Bombs cycle challenges

Tanzania 2025

This July, Simon will take on the 10th anniversary Bikes Against Bombs challenge—cycling 350km from the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania. He’ll be joining 40 senior leaders from the Wholesale and Convenience Retail sector in support of MAG’s mission to clear landmines and unexploded bombs from communities affected by conflict.

With challenging terrain and high temperatures ahead, Simon has been training hard—including regular rides from the Pastorfrigor GB office—to prepare for this demanding ride.

Learn more about the ride and support Simon’s fundraising.

Vietnam 2024

In April 2024, Simon joined 42 British and Irish business leaders from across the UK’s Wholesale and Convenience Retail sector to successfully cycle more than 400 kilometres through Vietnam’s two most heavily contaminated provinces. The team faced gruelling conditions to complete this demanding endurance challenge and through their collective effort, raised an incredible £321,284 in sponsorship to support MAG’s life-saving work.

Thailand – Laos 2023

Simon joined the Bikes Against Bombs team through the rugged terrain of northern Laos. Beginning in Chiang Rai, Thailand, the group cycled north to the border of Laos, along the Mekong River, eventually reaching the historic capital of Luang Prabang. The team faced gruelling climbs, sharp descents, and the most intense smog the region had seen in years, but despite the harsh conditions, they completed the route with unwavering determination.

Along with support from family, friends, colleagues, and the team’s fundraising efforts, the 2023 ride raised £220,000 – the highest total to date.

Bosnia 2022

In June 2022, Simon took part in the sixth overseas Bikes against Bombs ride, covering 300 hilly kilometres from Dubrovnik to Sarajevo. Much of the route was uphill, traversing Bosnia’s remote mountain passes and dense forests en route to Sarajevo. With steep ascents, long days in the saddle, and high summer temperatures, the ride was a demanding and rewarding challenge. The team raised over £100,000.

Cambodia 2020

After arriving in Siem Reap,Simon and the team began by visiting the iconic Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage site to watch the sunset from Pre Rup Temple. The 300km cycling challenge began from the hotel, with routes winding through jungle trails past breathtaking temples, including a visit to a MAG project. The journey continued across the Pursat River to Kampong Chhnang, culminating on the final day with a demanding 620m climb into Kirirom National Park.

With fantastic support, Simon successfully raised £5,000 for this remarkable charity.

Vietnam 2019

Alongside colleagues from the industry, Simon began the ride just outside Hanoi, cycling to Ha Long Bay and then on to Hai Phong. From there, the route continued through Nam Dinh and across the Red River Delta to Thanh Hoa. Heading further south, the team made their way to the vibrant city of Vinh before concluding the challenge by the beach in Dong Hoi.

Thanks to the generous support of colleagues, family, and friends, Simon raised £5,000 for MAG. Inspired by the experience, he immediately signed up for the MAG Cambodia 2020 Challenge upon his return.
